" Smoke" written by Abbie Meyer

Smoke.

Within every crevice, every crack,
through every tight pocket hole,
your thick, rich smoke encapsulates me....
Your words enchant,
my ears gasp for one more syllable to complete my thoughts.
And so I breathe you in.
You fill my lungs and awaken my mind.
Your cunning eyes and your devilish grin;
each synapse alive with your touch.
I flush and I fever wanting more, always more;
With each breathe, coming closer.
You enter in to me.
Your smoke rages.
I ache for release, and so you set it free.
Your flames engulf,
burning down each wall built for you;
burning as though they were yours to destroy.
And as the smoke clears,
I look deep into those cunning eyes,
and recognize your soul as if it were akin to mine,
as if our hearts had aligned, and I were home.

Opposites Attract

"Opposites Attract"
 by Zack Portas
 Life comes and goes seemingly in moments
 We only notice the whole until pieces of it are broken
 To truly know life is to know death
 Before the sky we must know the ground on which we step
 Understanding love requires first knowing hate
 Feeling true joy is only known after pain

As light is only welcomed after being in the dark
 So peace is truly had after it's been apart
 Freedom only becomes real
 After it was something that you couldn't feel
 To truly know life is to know death
 And it's something I wish I didn't know yet.

untitled

These days we chain to broken dreams, black ocean waters in moonbeam rays. Sky beckons to see us soar, wings buried in pyramids enshrined. Rain upon us this cleansing freedom, feathers upon the mountains of our home. When we conquer a dream we become it. Fear holds down ambition, fall down to rise above fools. Valleys of emptiness appear in your mind, rivers of knowledge flow through.
