"Candle" Written by Samuel Sanusi
Candle
I am glad
When I bought thee
I am never sad
For I know how long to use thee
After the matches kissed
The white wool
That's never seized
Of making the corners fool
I set out
To wash a piece of drama
That's always a doubt
In the altar of a farmer
Laughing stockishly
With a host of half friends
That walk sluggishly
Thinking there is a faith for trends
In my room
And on my table
Where debt is my groom
My candle is raped by my fable
And my groom
Become bridegroom
Methought of myself to be doom
When in my life; no traces of zoom
Back to my room
From the house of play
Where players have their way
To marry my vacuum
But,
I was sad
And my heart was bought
By the yoke of glad
As I look
The candle burn away
Without me reading the book of luke
That could never can come my way
My bones wrenched
As I am drenched
By the pool of thought
Drive me wrongly but, not ought
I lamented
When I couldn't count
What I should have painted
And their words is never count
